AGM - Venue change

Renovation work at the Malvern Vale Community Centre is still ongoing. Our meetings on 7th September (our AGM), and 21st September will be held at Bridge Hall, Portland Road, Malvern WR14 2TA. Please bring your own coffee mug. 

Malvern Quilters at Festival of Quilts

Our group Shirt Quilt and quilts by members of Malvern Quilters were exhibited at Festival of Quilts at the NEC.
July 2026: 23 quilts donated to Project Linus by members of Malvern Quilters.
As a result of fundraising at our Exhibition at the end of April 2026, Malvern Quilters have made a £500 donation to the Malvern branch of Maggs' Day Centre.
Both our Christmas Tree quilt and the Shirt Quilt, designed by Teresa, were exhibited at QuiltsUK at the Three Counties Showground. The Shirt Quilt received a Judge's Choice commendation.

May 2026: Six quilts delivered to Project Linus. 
We were pleased to welcome over 300 visitors to our Exhibition at the end of April 2026. A gallery of photos is on the Exhibition 2026 Images page
Scrap fabric collection for AgeUK
  • Scrap fabric collection! Please do not throw away any fabric scraps. AgeUK is able to collect and sell these for transformation into new textiles. Please save every scrap and give to Jacquie who will ensure they are bagged and passed onto AgeUK. Although the charity receives only pennies per bag, it is still something for them. 
    ​Our first bag of scraps was handed over to AgeUK in September 2025, and further bags have been donated in October, November and December 2025 (two bags). We started 2026 off with a large bag of scraps in January, and delivered two bags in February, three in March and two in April.

We again decided to make a donation to the Malvern Hills Foodbank at our Christmas Party and the 2025 collection has been delivered. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Jacob's Ladder Quilt by Malvern Quilters
The Buckeye Beauty/Jacob's Ladder blocks from our May meeting have been stitched together by Irene to make this beautiful quilt. Many thanks to Irene for the time spent, and to everyone who contributed blocks. 
Crazy Quilt by Malvern Quilters
  • On show at Quilts UK Malvern
    ​Here is our crazy quilt at Quilts UK Malvern. It's the only crazy quilt in the show, and also the only quilt that's tied, so two very unique aspects. The quilt is almost at the end of a row, well lit, and hangs beautifully. There are also a couple of chairs just opposite, so that people can sit and admire it..

It's finished!
Thanks to sterling work by Teresa and a little help from Bev, Geraldine and Jacquie, the group crazy quilt is now finished; thank you to Irene for the photos. Come along to the Quilts UK show at the Three Counties Showground from 15-18th May and see the quilt in all its glory.

  • We had a wonderful New York Beauty workshop on 12th April with Judi Mendelssohn who patiently taught us her paper-piecing technique. 
  • Joy Harber showed us how to go tiny on 29th March with her Miniature Log Cabin workshop, enabling us to produce precise little logs without paper-piecing.
