President’s Challenge The President’s challenge this summer will be to make a quilted long wallhanging which is 8 inches wide by 24 inches long, ie the size of 2 x A4 pieces of paper put together longways.
The theme will be “Forty Shades of Red” but the subject matter can be anything you wish. The quilt should be predominantly red but you can include other colours.
The Quilters Guild Region 11 will be holding an exhibition at the Weaver’s Gallery in Ledbury from 27th May to 2nd June 2019 to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The theme of the show is “Forty Shades of Red”. It would be lovely to have some quilts from our group on display in this exhibition so this is an opportunity to get ahead of the game. Their exhibition instruction is that the quilts submitted are no more than 1 metre in any direction. Please bring your quilt to the AGM on 3rd September and everyone can vote for the favourite. The winner will get free membership to the group for the 2018 – 2019.
Our Ruby Quilt update We have been busy joining up the blocks and are onto adding the long side panels. We are on schedule to get it all finished by the end of July, ready for Pam to take up with her to the NEC on 6th August. How exciting!
